Watch this space... the procyon maxim:

Powers and Abilities

Powers

  • Temporal Guardianship: The Chronocyon's are the protectors and keepers of the fabric of Time, and they, alongside the powers Time provides them, possess the ability to channel and manipulate it. As Time lives within all things alive and dead, its a universal energy and not restricted to them. While many Chronocyon powers certainly developed due to the length of time they have guarded time, the exact origination of the species, their capabilities and thus their physiology remain a mystery even to themselves. In addition, as time is seen as sentient (“a living thing”), its properties and nature are largely enigmatic, though the Chronocyon's are aware of the many powers and abilities they have been given.
    • Time Manipulation: Supported by their physiology, Chronocyons are capable of manipulating aspects of time by a strong and balanced co-ordination of mind, body and spirit. Time can be manipulated in a general area or a specific target in various manners, with the basics revolving around accelerating, slowing, stopping and even rewinding or looping. The range of area affected is proportional to the mastery of the user. Chronocyons remain mostly limited in this, however, as some powers are so unsustainable that they can only be achievable in groups. Due to this time existing in one space, manipulating it cannot affect another dimension.
    • Tachypsychia: Tachypsychia is the basis for the Chronocyons ability to perceive time in a number of ways, in particular that of acceleration and reduction. In beings across the universe outside of the Chronocyons, tachypsychia is considered a neurological condition which appears to them to make events slow down or speed up. This is due to the universal energy of time, which many beings cannot access unlike the Chronocyons thus only making this perception a temporary condition for individuals at random moments throughout history.
      • Time Acceleration: Chronocyons can accelerate/speed up time for themselves or others. This can not be done on a universal scale unless directly using the Arche.
      • Time Reduction: Chronocyons can slow time down to various degrees, while being able to move normally, either slowing time for certain targets or affecting everything but the user. They can also slow down opponents to avoid attacks and dampen movements. This can not be done on a universal scale unless directly using the Arche.
    • Stopping: Chronocyons can briefly stop time in a limited range/area for some seconds while being unaffected themselves, or may also allow others to be unaffected. This can not be done on a universal scale unless directly using the Arche.
      • Stasis: Only Chronocyons can lock themselves and others within a stasis point. The same applies to awakening them from stasis. Stasis is completely independent of the target.
    • Temporal Looping: Chronocyons can temporarily trap another person within a singular temporal loop of their actions.
    • Temporal Rewind: Chronocyons can rewind time to a few seconds, minutes or hours into the past and alter it. This rarely entails any paradoxes (such as the grandfather paradox) as user rewinds themselves parallel to time.
      • Replay Effect: Chronocyons can also cause a replay effect that can occur a number of times, causing the damage and effects to be amplified.
      • Physical Reparation: Chronocyons can repair and return broken or damaged non-living objects to an optimal state. Can not be done on a universal scale.
    • Temporal Awareness: With a close proximity to time itself, Chronocyons can sense/detect any alterations in the time-stream, allowing them to discern sense the use/users of Time Travel, paradoxes, anomalies etc. in the flow of time past and present.
    • Temporal Reparation: Chronocyons are able to repair time anomalies through conjuration on a universal scale.
    • Intangible Planeswalking: The Chronocyons are only able to travel intangibly to the plane of existence of Time (Aevum). The Time plane is multi-layered yet enigmatic in nature, likely full of arcane knowledge and unique power sources. Due to its mysterious nature, accessing the plane is both difficult, limited and deemed far too dangerous for all entities by the elders who have travelled there.
           ▪ Temporal Weaponry: Though the Chronocyon's have zero intention of creating weapons capable of time control abilities, they were forced into creating the for Captain Herztahl, granting him their powers. (MAY BE ADDED)
           ▪ Time Field Projection
  • Chronocyon Physiology: As the last universal common ancestors of the Procyonidae animal family, the Chronocyon's possessed similar abilities and mannerisms, such as their coats of fur insulating against cold weather, sharp eyesight and acute sense of smell. Their appearance and size varies depending on the species and subspecies of each of their descending subfamilies.
    • High Intelligence: With their mastery of harnessing time and technological advancements, the Chronocyon's are noticeably more intelligent than most other species.
    • Enhanced Agility: Chronocyon's are able to stand on his two legs and move more humanely (though with superior agility) whilst retaining the agility of other Procyonidae. They can go between one motion to another effortlessly, effectively dodge attacks, jump and run long distances, perform back-flips and numerous other body positions using a balanced combination of bodily coordination, balance, reflexes, speed and strength.
    • Improved Strength: Though still severely limited by a slight enhancement in durability, Chronocyon's improved strength allows them to carry a variety of items.
    • Improved Durability: The Chronocyon's durability is slightly furthered, helping them survive attacks typically capable of killing an average human such as explosions, though they are still vulnerable to most dangerous and deadly attacks.
    • Sharp Senses: Chronocyon senses are heightened beyond human level: their enhanced sense of smell help detect subtle smells around them as well as identify the approach of others; their broad auditory range perceives tones outside most other hearing ranges including more subtle sounds via vibrations; the sharpness of their eyesight is beyond that of most other species, and the hyper sensitive nature of their paws help to identify objects before touching them with vibrissae locate above their paws.
    • Night Vision: The Chronocyon's have excellent night vision. The reflective layer in the lens of their eyes magnifies images of nearby objects, making them also glow red in the dark. Furthermore, Chronocyon vision is binocular giving them depth perception and allowing the ability to distinguish colours.
    • Climbing: With their immense dexterity, Chronocyons can effortlessly move along angled/vertical surfaces such as trees, walls etc. with great speed and balance (see enhanced agility for further expansion.)
    • Environmental Adaptation: Able to survive in various environments, Chronocyon's easily adapt to tolerating a wide array of climates and radiation, scarcity in food or water, etc. and even brief exposures to atmospheric pressure and space.
    • Enhanced Swimming: Chronocyon's are strong swimmers, capable of swimming with an average speed of about 5 km/h (3mph) and staying in the water for several hours.
    • Extended Lifespan: Because of their short legs, the Chronocyons are faster than the average human, with their top speed over short distances being 16 to 24 km/h (10 to 15 mph). They have used their speed in various situations, such as to escape gunfire or outrunning people in a chase.
    • Enhanced Speed: While it is unknown how far they can live up to, Chronocyons will age very slowly, with most lives predicted to live up to 5,000 years.

Trivia

  • The exact name of the Chronocyons', 'Chronocyon omhanus' (pronounced 'om-han-us'), is intended as a combination of the Latin word 'omnis' (all/every) and the Hawaiian word 'ohana' (family). The 'om' of 'all' and the 'hanus' together sounds like 'Ohana', thus meaning 'all-family'.
  • As the Procyonidae's most heightened sense is its sense of touch, the creator felt it would be natural for the Chronocyon's powers to be enabled through the use of their paws.
    • This is enhanced by the running motifs of music, water and nature, all of which play a symbolic role in representing the Chronocyons, their relationship with Time, the relationship with Time and the universe and Time itself.
    • Moreover, the name for the common 'raccoon' that are descended from the Chronocyons is derived from the Algonquian term 'arakun', which can be loosely translated to mean “he who scratches with his hands”, again emphasising touch and senses throughout.
  • Group of raccoons is called nursery or gaze.
  • Mating season takes place from January to mid March. Two months later, female will give birth to 3-4 babies. Their tails don't have bands, and mask around eyes is still missing. (Implied that Bandit had sisters/brothers but less fortunate and killed)
  • Bandit's mother is the more fierce (again aligns with raccoon facts)
  • Raccoons have a large array of vocalisations. It can make over 51 different sounds that communicate different thing. Hiss, purr and growl when competing for food. Younger ones often chirp and squeal. Rabie raccoons exhibit extremely high pitched squeals ('blood curdling' for when heard)
  • Raccoons do not travel far from a comfortable den; makes Bandit's journey greater, reasons why the Chronocyons stay
  • 'Raccooni' and 'coon' are considered derogratory terms.
